Istiqama Global Association Launches Its Second International Conference

The Second International Conference, “Omanis and the Swahili: Between Influence and Interaction,” commenced today in Mombasa, Kenya. The two-day conference brings together a distinguished group of researchers, academics, and specialists interested in Swahili history, culture, and language.
The opening ceremony was attended by official representatives of the governments of the Republic of Kenya and the Sultanate of Oman, along with a number of prominent academic and cultural figures, reflecting the depth of the historical and civilizational ties that have connected Omanis and the peoples of East Africa over the centuries.
The conference features a series of academic sessions and research papers exploring the mutual influences between Omanis and the Swahili in cultural, linguistic, historical, and social fields. These discussions aim to deepen mutual understanding and highlight the rich shared cultural heritage between the two sides.
