In an extension of the Al-Istiqama International Society’s journey in serving the Holy Quran and education, the Abu Ubaida School for teaching the Holy Quran was opened in Zanzibar, the day after the opening of the Imam Jabir bin Zaid School, so that the Society adds a new educational edifice to its projects aimed at building a generation of educated Quranic people.
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of the Deputy Mufti of Zanzibar and His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud Al-Siyabi, Secretary General of the Office of the Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, and in the presence of a number of sheikhs, personalities and those interested in educational and advocacy affairs.
The school can accommodate about 700 male and female students, and aims to provide a suitable educational environment for the children of the region, helping them to learn and memorize the Holy Quran, and to instill its values and morals in their souls, so that Quranic education becomes the basis for building their personalities and serving their families and community.
